LSA in College

"LSA in College" is a program designed to help the players of Lanier Soccer Association with the college recruiting process. In recent years we have assisted with placing a number of former LSA Select players at NCAA, NJCAA and NAIA schools on soccer scholarships.

"LSA in College" offers a variety of resources and events to help high school students to research and prepare to play soccer in college. Please review the resources below and watch for upcoming college preparation events.

If you have any questions or need guidance related to college recruitment, the director of LSA's college programs can be contacted at: .

Resources

Finding the best college to achieve your goals takes time and effort of any high school student. For those who want to play soccer while attending college, there is much more to know and high school is the time to start researching and preparing to play for a college.

"LSA in College" provides a variety of resources for potential college athletes:

  • College Soccer Timeline: A timeline of events for high school students looking to play soccer in college.
  • Contacting a College Coach: A guide for contacting a college coach to begin the recruitment process.
  • NCAA Eligibility Center: The NCAA clearinghouse must be completed by all potential student athletes in order to compete at any of the three divisions in sport.
  • NAIA Eligibility Center: Like the NCAA, the NAIA also requires student athletes to complete an online application to the organization.
  • "Soccer Spotlight" Video Highlights: High quality video highlighting to aid with college recruitment, available at a reduced price for LSA members.
  • National Letter of Intent: If you’re offered a scholarship from an NCAA school, you will need to sign a National Letter of Intent. There are two “signing” periods for scholarships (February and August).

Upcoming Events for College

"LSA in College" achieves this by implementing strong relationships with both in state and out-of-state college coaches, in a variety of avenues. Such ways include:

  • College Training Days - College coaches are invited to LSA to run college-level practice sessions with our Select teams.
  • College Scrimmages - LSA Select teams scrimmage local college soccer teams at the college's soccer facility.
  • College Recruitment Seminars - LSA hosts a college seminar highlighting the best methods to aid with college recruitment.
  • College ID Prep Camps - Colleges use ID camps to expose potential recruits to college-level training in order to assess if they could play at that program.

Keep watching our Upcoming Events calendar for all of our college activities.
